Summary

In Chapter 11: The Greatest Swordfight in Modern Times, Elwes mentioned how Christopher Guest had been training for his short sword fight with Mandy Patinkin doing production. Patinkin had gotten overzealous and accidentally poked Guest. During shooting, Guest unwittingly made sword sound effects with his mouth and had to be told to stop. Elwes and Guest then shot a scene with Mel Smith, a comedic actor who played the albino torturing Westley in the Pit of Despair scene. Like Billy Crystal, Smith had them laughing the whole time. Elwes and Patinkin finally performed the Greatest Swordfight in Modern Times scene for Reiner on the set it would be shot. Reiner was underwhelmed by the runtime.
