Summary
In Chapter 19, Philip drives Garth and Evan to their regular therapy appointment. Along the way, Garth posits that if two people communicate, and they each believe it to be a different time, then that is possibly a form of time travel. Philip arrives at the therapist’s office and sees, to his surprise, that their therapist is Cynthia Jalter. She explains that she specializes in studying obsessive codependency and the subjective patterns of perception that such relationships create for its participants. In Chapter 20, Philip goes to the physics building and finds Alice waiting outside the lab where Lack is held. Alice tries to explain that, to her, Lack seems to be an alien visitor from another dimension, as well as an essential embodiment of pure love.
