Summary
The novel is narrated in third-person past and is broken into two parts with an epilogue. In Chapter One, Pip went with her father to meet her attorney, Roger Turner, who her father worked with, so that she could attend mediation with Max Hastings. On her way out of the house, she saw a dead pigeon in her front yard.
In Chapter Two, Pip came face-to-face with Max Hastings. Pip had previously uncovered the truth that Max Hastings was a serial rapist and had captured a voice recording of him admitting to using Rohypnol to drug and rape young girls at parties. When Max Hastings went to trial to face charges of rape, Pip was certain that he would be found guilty. However, to her shock, the court had found him innocent. In retaliation, Pip had vandalized his house and released the voice...
