Artemis

Artemis is a fictional settlement on the moon. The novel takes place at an unspecified point in the future, and Artemis is the only lunar settlement. It is separated into five spherical structures (Conrad, Aldrin, Armstrong, Bean and Shepard) connected by tunnels. The spheres function as de facto neighborhoods with distinct socioeconomic environments. Jazz and her father moved to Artemis when Jazz was six years old, and Jazz fondly considers Artemis her home.

The Moon

Because the novel adheres to strict accuracy in its scientific portrayals, the specific atmospheric and practical concerns of living on the moon remain consistently relevant to the narrative.
