Chapters 6 and 7 Summary

In chapter six. Mainyu and Albie begin their negotiations for the work Albie is requesting. Mainyu says that he isn't loyal to Carpathia but neither is he loyal to anyone else other than himself. They haggle over the price of the job with Mainyu demanding fifty thousand Nicks, the current global currency. Albie counters with thirty and believes Mainyu will eventually give in. Mainyu points out the Global Community will pay twenty thousand for a Christian and that it doesn't matter if that Christian is dead or alive. Mainyu says Albie has thirty thousand in his possession and that his body will bring twenty thousand more, "and we don't even have to do the job." With those words, he kills Albie.

Chloe is starving by this time and is back in her cell when a man walks by. He seems surprised...
