Paul Drevin learns the truth of the saying It is Lonely at the Top. Paul is the son of a billionaire. Paul has every possession he could possibly want to keep him happy, and many that he does not want. Paul is not allowed to go to a public school because his father feels that it would be a security risk. Paul is not allowed to roam about the city by himself for the same reason. Paul is unable to make friends his age in the conventional manner because he does not have access to kids his age. His father has arranged play dates with other kids and has invited many kids over in the past, but Paul can tell that they are only there for the money and the expensive toys.
