Pendant

Ariadne's bee pendant symbolizes blessing. When Daedalus first gives her the necklace, she asks him about the significance of the bees entwined at its center. He explains the role in many mythological tales, particularly in those regarding the gods. Ariadne wears the necklace throughout the novel, thus suggesting that she has been divinely blessed, and is thus protected.

Theseus's Club

Theseus's club symbolizes heroism. In the early chapters of the novel, Ariadne and Phaedra become acquainted with the significance of the club, as he has used it to win many battles. The sisters also help retrieve the club from the guards and to place it in the labyrinth. The club is a symbol of Theseus's fabled strength and power. At the same time, the only way he can use it to defeat the Minotaur is with the sisters' help, thus revealing their power and bravery.
