Summary
In Chapter 7, Ingo allows B. to enter his (Ingo’s) apartment. The apartment is very cluttered, and B. notices some miniature scenes and dioramas that Ingo has created. To B.’s surprise, one of the displays depicts B.’s own neighborhood in New York City, in surprising detail. When B. asks about the miniature displays, Ingo replies reticently and refuses to explain. Ingo also suddenly appears hesitant to show his film to B.
In Chapter 8, the next day, Ingo comes to B.’s apartment to speak. Ingo says that he has just watched Gravity in Essence, the one film that B. himself made. While the film was panned by critics as being pretentious and devoid of actual substance, Ingo says that he deeply admires and appreciates the film. Ingo says that he is now willing to show his own film to B.
