Summary
The next chapter takes place in New York in 1985 and is told from the perspective of Jack. Jack recalled the night of Tilly’s party, told from Anita’s perspective in the first chapter. They arrived home, still arguing. Jack was hurt that Anita had not shown him any of her latest work, which had now been picked up for a solo exhibition. Anita’s sister rang and refused to speak to Jack. Anita started talking to her sister on the phone in Spanish and Jack left the room. He found Anita’s portfolio and thought that some of her latest work was a copy of his own work. He became very angry with Anita and accused her of stealing from him and Anita laughed at him.
