Faith is beginning to see differences in the behaviors of her children. Although twins, Bonnie seems much more independent than Beau. Wade's mother, Patsy, assures Faith this is normal behavior and Beau will become more like his sister as he gets older. Faith is happy to have Patsy around since she does not have her own mother to share these things with. However, when Faith takes Patsy to a local bakery and they run into Kari and Julia, Faith is offended when Patsy uses an old derogatory phase to refer to Julia's mixed race.
