Chapters 16-18 Summary
Interviews with Elias' staff come up empty since Elias had a habit of keeping his strategy to himself until he presented it in court. However, Harry does learn that Elias seemed even more secretive with the Black Warrior case than his previous cases and that he appeared confident that the case would be easily won. After the interviews, Harry goes home for a quick nap and discovers his wife at home. Harry learns that Eleanor was at the casino the night before despite what the security guard told him. The security guard is a friend of Eleanor's and lied to Harry believing he was protecting her. Eleanor is an ex-FBI agent who has a felony conviction and has not has any success finding a new job. Eleanor is deeply unhappy and Harry fears her unhappiness is leading to the end of...
