Chapters 4-5 Summary
Harry and his team are debriefed by Captain Garwood, the supervisor of the Robbery Homicide Division. Garwood tells them that the operator of the trains found Elias and the other victim, Catalina Perez, dead after bringing up the train in order to shut it down. The operator calls the police and the call is routed to the Robbery Homicide Division because they are covering for the Central detectives who are out on a training assignment. Robbery Homicide talked to the operator and did a search for shell casings before searching the bodies. Elias did not have identification on him, but a letter was found in his pocket that gave an identity. Immediately the detectives backed off and called Irving because of the sensitivity of the situation. Garwood theorizes that the shooter came up behind Elias as he was boarding the train...
