Chapters 131-137 Summary
The camerlengo and the guards with him head toward the Sistine Chapel. He has often prayed for a way to make people believe again. As the guards open the door to the Chapel, the camerlengo feels power moving in his veins, and he believes that God has chosen him. When he walks in, he is not surprised to see all of the cardinals looking at him in wonder. Then he looks up and sees Robert Langdon.
The camerlengo stands in the aisle of the Sistine Chapel. The cardinals are all standing near the front, staring back at him. Langdon is on the altar, standing next to a television. The television plays an endless loop, displaying a scene that the camerlengo immediately identifies even if he can't believe it. He closes his eyes for a moment, hoping that the morphine is making...
