Chapters 25 - 47 Summary
Chapter 25 - Penryn wonders if the girls were eaten by one of the low demons. Penryn says that not all people are like that, and Raffe says he knows, because he watches TV. Penryn asks him if he is married, but he says that angels and humans cannot be together. He explains that once, angels called Watchers were left to observe the world, married women, and had children called Nephilim. They were abominations who ate humans, drank blood, and terrorized the world. The Watchers were therefore condemned to the Pit until Judgment Day.
Penryn and Raffe arrive outside the southern part of San Francisco, and are amazed to see a black Hummer on the road below them -Obadiah's men. The Hummer stops and shuts off as a flying-v of angels swoops in over the road. The angels disappear, and the Hummer...
