Angel regains consciousness in some sort of medical room. She is bloody and her memory is hazy. She has an IV and there is a tube being put down her throat. She recognizes the smell of disinfectant. She isn't sure if Max and the others have been saved and she begins to cry. A voice talks to Angel, it tells her she is superhuman and special. It tells her she is admired and that superhumans are needed in the new world.

Epilogue: Famous Last Words. Analysis

The Epilogue solves the question about Angel's fate. It also sets up another challenge for Max and her flock to meet in the next book.
