Section 2: Chapter 2 & Chapter 3 Summary

In Chapter 2, Nest considers the prospect of another encounter with John Ross on her way to church, and her feelings are mixed because he made a huge impact on her life in the week she has spent with him in the past fifteen years. As she walks into church with Josie Jackson, she wonders if Josie still thinks about Ross because there was something between them years ago. After working in the nursery for two hours during which Nest tries not to think about her ex-husband and the pain of never becoming a mother, she joins the fellowship after the service ends.
