Summary

In Chapter 55, Don writes to Jessica but does not send. In this letter he tells Jessica about her half-sister. He says it was a visit by Ethan Winter that brought to light his memories of his first daughter. He tells Jessica that if Ethan were to ever come back, he will tell him about Jessica and see if Ethan can help her.

In Chapter 56, Jessica can only quietly tell Kelso he will not be seeing Skittles that night. She cannot even tell him what happened. She is 30 minutes late to her first shift at the diner. The night manager warns Jessica she needs to smile and be friendly with the customers or else she is a threat to everyone’s jobs. At the end of her shift, Jessica looks at herself in the mirror and tells herself that she is no one.
