Summary

In Chapter 48, Ethan finds himself feeling like he is back in high school as he waits for the warden to approve his request to see Don. The warden storms through, asking his secretary, Ann, to hold his calls. A few minutes later he asks to speak to Agent Daugherty. When the warden finally acknowledges Ethan, he says that he cannot arrange a visit that day, but that Ethan should come back the following day. Ann tells Ethan that they need the address where he is staying in Florida but Ethan refuses to give it to her. He promises to return the following day.

In Chapter 49, Jessica has an interview with the boss and is given the job at the Phantom Diner. She finally calls Shelly. Shelly says she realized she was just getting older waiting to die so she has decided to live...
