Summary
In the Prologue, Colonel Voigt watches behind Sergeant Jessica Aldridge in a military trailer in Nebraska as she centers a heat sensitive camera on the five men in the Somalian desert. Voigt gets the go ahead and tells Jessica to arm the missile, and then to fire. Jessica hesitates, sensing the men are waiting for someone. After half an hour the SUVs arrive. Voigt believes one of them carries Jabir al-Yarisi, a person of interest in a bombing of a British embassy and also in recruiting rebels.
Although they are supposed to wait for positive identification, Voigt and Jessica are given the go ahead to launch the missile. Jessica waits again and sees two women get out of one of the vehicles. They are again given the order from Langley to fire the missile. Jessica looks at Voigt who tells her...
