Pages 276-288 Summary

Alexander meets the Axel Vander movie scriptwriter, JB, for a drink. JB is also invited to attend the college lecture. They talk about Axel Vander and his life. Later, Billie Stryker calls to tell Alexander that she has found someone that he should meet.

The nun, Sister Catherine, that Billie takes Alexander to meet, is Kitty. Kitty tells Alexander that he has it all wrong. She says she never told anyone about what she saw that day except for Billy. She explains her mother was dying from a cancer that formed after the last baby she gave birth to that died tore something inside of her body.

Kitty says they remained in town a month before her mom went to live with her mother. She says her father put the house and business up for sale after Christmas. She says Billy...
