Summary
Chapter 6 finds James the next day as he strolls through the majestic corridors and courtyards of Westminster Hall and the houses of Parliament, feeling safe and in his element, away from the reporters. Earlier that morning, James had joined the prime minister for a private workout session, and Tom had reiterated to a grateful James that bailing him out of a jam was the least that Tom could do for his oldest friend. As James approaches the Home Office, he is stopped by two police detectives who ask to have a word with him. James suggests that they talk in his office, to which the police agree. In an effort to slow the situation down a bit, James asks what the matter is regarding, and the lead detective tells him that they are investigating an allegation of rape made by Olivia.
