Summary
Chapter 35 opens as Jack is heading back to Le Grand Leon to gather his belongings. While there, he answers a knock on the door, and it is the police. They arrest him for the murder of four people. The police tell him that they had been informed by Bernard Almont of his guilt. A news article after the chapter states that Dr. Beecham testified to having seen Jack hanging around the Anatomists’ Society, and Bernard testified that he heard Jack make a full confession. Dr. Straine was arrested for purchasing the bodies.
