Chapters 4-6 (p. 67-114) Summary
Spider tells Fat Charlie he is bewildered by the fact his brother never told him that their father had died. Charlie confesses that he sometimes forgets he has a brother, and Spider tells of his many failed attempts to reach Fat Charlie. Spider recommends an evening of "wine, women and song" to cheer themselves up. They hire a taxicab to take them on bar rounds until they are quite inebriated. Then Spider directs them to a West End bar where he picks up not one but several adoring young women. Fat Charlie follows along with Spider and his retinue as they head to a karaoke bar where Spider thinks they should sing a tribute to their father who died of a heart attack after a karaoke-singing performance.
