Mireille Duval Jameson
Mireille Duval Jameson is the central character and first-person narrator in this novel. She is the wife of Michael, and mother of Christophe and Emma Lorraine. She is the daughter of Sebastian and Fabienne Duval. Sebastian is a wealthy man who owns a successful construction company. Mireille is kidnapped outside the gates of her parents’ estate while she, her husband, and infant son are visiting Haiti. Her captors ask $1 million as a ransom.
