Summary
In Chapter 29, at the airport in Miami, Mireille and Michael were met by hordes of reporters. They did not speak to any of them. At home the next day Mireille told Michael she was going to work. He suggested that she was not ready, but she accused him of trying to keep her prisoner in her own home. Mireille drove to work, but could not force herself to get on the elevator. Instead, she got back in her car and drove north.
In Chapter 30, Mireille stopped in Chattanooga and rented a hotel room. She sent a text to Michael telling him that she was safe, but that she could not come home.
