Summary

In Chapter 6, Whistledown reports in her paper two years later that Benedict, at 30, has still not married.

Benedict was not sure why he had agreed to attend the party thrown by Phillip Cavender. Because he was bored and suffering with the remains of a head cold, he looked for Phillip to say goodbye.

Meanwhile, Sophie decided it was time to get a new job. She was tired of being chased by Phillip and his friends. Sophie was walking away from the house when Phillip caught her. He invited his friends to join him. Sophie knew she was about to be raped, but then she heard Benedict’s voice call out to Phillip. Benedict realized right away what was happening. He had too many sisters to ignore a woman in distress. He ordered Phillip and his friends to release Sophie.
