Blackcliff Military Academy

Blackcliff Military Academy is the Empire’s foremost elite military academy located in the City of Serra and responsible for the turning out of Masks. Blackcliff is perched on a cliff overlooking a desert and the city, and is under the command of the Commandant. Three-thousand students are in attendance at any one time, and are selected for admission by the Augurs. The students learn everything from imperial ideology to the art of war to actual combat, and upon graduation, are placed into service for the Empire.

Backcliff is a place loved by loyal subjects of the Empire, hated by the Resistance, and hated by Elias. Elias, Helene, Marcus, Zak, and others, are all students at Blackcliff, and are poised to graduate at the beginning of the novel.
