Importance: Laia is unhappy that her brother has been sneaking out regularly at night, and she worries some harm may come to him. Worse, she worries that Darin is working for the Empire. The Empire killed their parents, so Laia is especially horrified to consider that Darin could be working for them now. A raid interrupts Laia’s questioning of her brother, however.

Importance: After fleeing from the raid on her house, Laia heads into the catacombs of Serra. She repeats a mantra in her mind about finding the Resistance and saving Darin in order to urge her along. It is a long and dark journey through the catacombs, so Laia’s consistent reminders to herself of what she must do helps spur her on.
