Summary

The narrative shifts back to Roy in Celestial’s house. She made him breakfast. He understood that Celestial had chosen to stay with Andre. He remembers going to the garage where he found a letter from his mother. In it, she asked him if he was “sure that she is the woman for you. Is she the wife for the real person who you are?” (265). When Celestial returned to check on him, he attacked the car with a tennis racket. He asked Celestial if she loved him.
