Chapters 25 through 29 Summary

In Chapter Twenty-five, a servant brings Matthias a tray but he declines it. She looks hungry and he suggests she eat it herself but not tell anyone. Matthias goes to the dining room and when Nina hands him a bowl of oatmeal he hands her a note asking for another meeting. They meet in the same bathroom and Matthias tells her about the warehouse filled with food. Matthias wants to come up with a plan to give it away. Nina says there are difficulties, one of them that Trey and some of the others don't trust Matthias because he's been treated almost like royalty. There's some who believe Matthias might be Tiddy's son or the commanders "long-lost grandson." While Nina knows it isn't true, she points out that the others don't know Matthias.
