Section 9: pages 168-183 Summary
As Paige follows Aidan Cole through the fairgrounds, he does not seem to be searching for her. As he stops to watch a boy shooting baskets, she angrily demands answers, leading him to the back of the fairgrounds where she feels confident she can escape if necessary. Aidan tells her about the emails and photograph, but Paige cannot believe he found her after so many months of careful planning. None of it makes sense, but she is fine until he shows her the picture. Paige asks herself who knew she was there and who could have taken it, but she does not want to know the answers "for there was only one answer. And it was as unacceptable as it was implausible" (page 172). Finding herself all alone and unable to trust anyone, Paige runs.
