Summary
This section begins with Samantha pining to hear from Teddy, even though she realizes it is against the odds. She catches her father on his way out for a morning run, and the two share rare moments together. He broaches the subject of her future, and when she tries to confide how overshadowed and excluded she feels, he misconstrues her concerns and dismisses her feelings as a result of being royal. He then likens her to Aunt Margaret, the King's wild and reckless sister, and Sam takes this as an insult. In truth, her father means it as a compliment to her spirit and passion.
