Summary
After Hero’s hair is washed and blown dry, she returns to Roni and the two of them head into the restaurant. Lolo Boy—Rosalyn’s grandfather, Lola Adela’s husband—greets them and heaps barbequed food in front of them. When Adela joins them, Hero’s mind ventures back to the past, when her maid took her to a faith healer who tried to determine whether she was possessed and, in the end, helped her regain her ability to eat. She recalls how Teresa was the only person she told about the faith healer. Teresa had asked if it was depression that Hero had suffered from.
