Summary

In Chapter 4, Sydney sat with her back to the wall in an open-air cafe. She had dyed her hair and was wearing a different hairstyle. She was hoping to remain out of the sight of the Alpha’s men. She had taken an Uber, two subways, several taxis, and a bus to the cafe to meet Eshan Zarif. Zarif ran security for the mosque where Malik had been spotted.

After warning Zarif that he could have put himself in danger by meeting with her, Sydney told him about Malik. She described how she had tried to adopt him but had not been successful. When Zarif prompted her, Sydney told him that a fellow Marine had told her that Malik was in America.
