Summary

In Chapter 1, Lara Jean is at a party with her boyfriend Peter. He won the winning point in his lacrosse game earlier in the day, so he is celebrating with his friends. Lara Jean is sitting with her friends Pammy and Lucas talking about hairstyles. Peter comes up to her and tells her he wants to take her home. When they get into his car, she realizes that it is only midnight and they still have an hour before curfew. They drive to the University of Virginia campus where Peter has been accepted on an athletic scholarship and where Lara has always wanted to go. She applied to five schools, but she only wants to go to UVA. She grew up in Charlottesville and the campus reminds her of her mother, who took classes at the university before she passed away.
