Miranda Fitch
Miranda Fitch is the 37-year old protagonist of All's Well, introduced in her fourth year as an associate professor of English and Theater Studies at the unnamed college at the center of the plot. She is a native New Englander, whose father died when she was little and who was raised by her alcoholic single mother who groomed Miranda from early childhood for a life on the stage. Miranda's mother died when Miranda was finishing college with a degree in theater, and after a period of grief over her orphanhood, Miranda decided to go to Edinburgh to pursue her artistic ambitions.
Miranda's performance of Helen in All's Well That Ends Well at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival won her professional acclaim and the devotion of the lovestruck Paul, a Maine native on a hiking holiday though Scotland. The two were soon married and honeymoon in the Scottish highlands...
