Summary

Chapter 17

Tris wanders around the Airport Compound and finds herself in the front area where they first arrived. She stands in front of the large chunk of rock with the suspended water dripping onto it and contemplates its meaning. Zoe finds her and tells her that it means that what they do takes time, but that eventually it does make a difference. Meaning, that while there is forward momentum, it is going very slowly and it will take a long time for a difference to be noticeable. Eventually, Tris goes to the lab to collect something belonging to her mother. She learns that her mother had near perfect genes, which is why she was invited to come and live at the Bureau.
