Quinn
Quinn is the main character and narrator of the novel. She describes her life with Graham through their joint discovery their significant others were cheating on them, their dating relationship, their marriage, and their first year of marriage. On the opposite side of their relationship, Quinn describes her heartbreak and loss of hope when she and Graham are unable to have a baby.
Quinn describes how their relationship came to a head when she suffered a miscarriage as a result of an ectopic pregnancy and had to have a miscarriage. Quinn went to visit her sister, Ava, overseas to get a break from Graham. When Graham could not stand the silence any longer, he followed Quinn to her sister’s house and brought with him the box they were supposed to open only if they were considering divorce.
