Summary
Chung formally begins her search for her adoptive parents. To do this, she hires a search angel, someone who acts as an intermediary to connect her with her parents. The process for finding a search angel proves to be extremely tedious – not only is the process expensive, but it is also extremely difficult to find someone trustworthy enough to handle personal matters. The potential intermediaries introduced to Chung represent a diverse set of personalities that all had different reasons for doing their jobs – ultimately, Chung felt that none of the search angels embodied her ideals and purpose for seeking out her birth parents and did not respect her priorities in the way she had expected.
