Summary
All This Could Be Different begins when, after graduating from college, an Indian-American woman named Sneha decides to move to Milwaukee in pursuit of a career opportunity. Sneha’s initial residence in Milwaukee proves to be lonely and isolating, as her boss, Peter, sets her up with an apartment whose property managers, Amy and Tim, take an immediate dislike to Sneha. Indeed, Amy quickly begins accusing Sneha of being excessively loud in spite of her relative silence. However, Sneha’s social life somewhat improves when she helps an old college friend, Thom, secure employment at the same firm she works for. Thom, a white man, moves to Milwaukee with his girlfriend, Isabel, and he and Sneha continue their friendship from college, which is endearingly brotherly.
