Summary

Kellie and her producer, Hector, visit Titus, who still feels drawn to Kellie. They interview Titus about the case. As she leaves the station, Kellie says that she missed Titus and that he “could never admit how happy we were” (209).

Carla learns that Cole received a text from Dayane Carter on the night of his death. Another deputy learns that Cole likely cheated on his girlfriend with Dayane. Trey reveals to Titus the identity of the mole in the department. Later that evening, Titus receives a call from someone using a voice modulator. The caller—clearly the Last Wolf—references biblical verses and asks Titus, “Will you flee when the wolf comes to devour your flock?” (216).

Titus drives to Tom’s house and fires him; he has learned that Tom was the informant for Jasper. He accuses Tom of shooting Latrell, in part...
