Importance: Red believes that Gamma taught her this so that Red could help Wanda understand this. It was important for Red that her mom understand the difference because eventually Wanda would have to believe that she could do what is necessary to get Red back rather than believe it is impossible. Red stopped believing in the impossible due to her difficult life, but through the love of Celine and Jackson, she starts to believe again. She also realizes that her grandmother taught her this lesson for Red’s own benefit, not just for Wanda’s.
