Summary

In Chapter 21, Celine asks Red to go for a walk. They walk out to a “large flat slab of stone,” and Celine covers them with a blanket (124). They look up at the sky, and Red can hear the stars. Celine tells her that she has asked the stars to sing for Red. Red feels “the tickle of impossible things” (125). Celine tells Red about constellations, and she tells her how Zeus wanted the seven sisters of Pleiades to be defined by their beauty and not their grief. She then tells Red that she once had a son who died. The music reminds Celene that she is loved. This is similar to what Gamma used to say about dancing. Gamma was able to fix broken things with her dancing. Red begins to wonder if the things she hopes for could actually come true.
