Summary
In Chapter 16, the narrator notes that Armand and Dussault are each wondering what the other knows as they prepare to meet. Dussault, for instance, wondered “Does he know Horowitz is going to die? / Does he know why?” (140). The first clash came when Armand asked to look through the box of Stephen’s things, but Dussault claimed he did not have that box. Dussault, in turn, asked for the passcode to the computer, but Armand said that he did not have it. He said he could get it from McGillicuddy, but did not think she would give it to Dussault.
Dussault told Armand that one of the bullets that killed Plessner had severed his spine. Commando units, like GIGN the elite corps in which Dussault had served, were trained to kill that way. Dussault asked Armand if he had been a member of Joint...
