Summary
In Chapter 6, Armand went home to the apartment that Zora had left to him when she died. He updated Reine-Marie on Stephen’s progress, that he was still alive, but doctors feared he had suffered brain damage. After sleeping three hours, Armand called Jean-Guy if he had noticed anything unusual at dinner. Jean-Guy suggested Armand call Agnes McGillicuddy, Stephen’s secretary, to find out what Stephen had been working on.
Later at the hospital, the doctor told Armand and Reine-Marie that Stephen should not have suffered the injuries he sustained. She explained he was in a medically induced coma and did not appear to be in any pain. She warned them that there was a chance he would continue to live and they might have to make the decision to end his life.
While Reine-Marie took the box of Stephen’s personal belongings...
