Summary

Francisco is surprised to discover that he enjoys having the rooster in his greenhouse. He enjoys having another living thing in the greenhouse with him and likes its presence around him. However, he is disturbed by the fight the rooster has. It sees his reflection in the windows and tries to attack itself. Francisco calms the rooster by holding it tight against his chest until the rooster understands there is no danger. Caring for the rooster reminds him of caring for Daniel, and Francisco goes to the Shrine to reflect on what he should do to save his nephew. He finds Antonia already there, contemplating the same problem, and hold Antonia to a mirror until she cries and hugs Francisco lovingly.
