Summary
Forrester talks directly to the reader at the beginning of Chapter 15, and explains that he/she will not understand without knowing more about Jenny and Sean first. He explained the brain’s filing system again. Every time a memory is pulled out of the file, it is altered by emotions and refiled. Sean could not do this because he had no memories to which his emotions could attach. Jenny’s problem was the same. Sean was able to break through and remember his accident. Jenny and Sean met in Forrester’s therapy group and grew close out of their similar experience with the memory-altering therapy. Jenny was elated to find someone who identified with her; Sean was likewise happy. Forrester thought she might be getting a crush on Sean. They texted daily and sometimes talked on Skype.
