Summary
In “Chapter Five: Krissy, 1994,” Detective Townsend took Krissy into the living room to speak to her alone. She explained that the day before had been an ordinary Saturday at home. She had put the kids to bed, then she went upstairs, took a bath, and fell asleep while Billy was downstairs watching TV. When Townsend asked Krissy what January was like, she said she was a dancer just like she used to be. When Townsend asked if Krissy had any idea who would have written those words on the wall, she suggested someone was jealous of her family because Billy was from the wealthiest family in town. Perhaps, Krissy said, someone wanted ransom. She also suggested maybe someone had taken an interest in January at one of her dance competitions. After the first interview, Billy and Krissy were taken to the police station...
