Summary
On page 60, the novel changes back to Quinn's perspective, as he and his friends are at Jill's party. Everybody seems to be enjoying themselves, except for Quinn. Since Quinn is not in the mood to party, he gives Guzzo his mother's flask that he stole earlier that evening. The violence that took place at Jerry's that evening really throws him off. That night, Quinn does not get much sleep, the events of yesterday continually playing in his head. When he eventually gets out of bed, he does his morning push-ups and sit-ups in the living room. This morning in particular, Quinn was pushing himself very hard, and his mother notices. She comes into the living room asking Quinn what is wrong wrong, but he is adamant that nothing is bothering him.
