Alcatraz Island, an island off the coast of California on which a federal prison was located, is the main setting in this novel. It is where Moose and his family live.

64 Building is the apartment building where Moose and his family, as well as the Mattamans, Carconis, Trixeles and Bominis, lived. Apartment 2E, where Moose’s family lived, was damaged when Donny set fire to it.

Chudley House is the place where Moose and his family lived while they waited for their apartment to be repaired after it was gutted by a fire. It was in Chudley House where Cam hosted his poker party and Donny was discovered to be cheating.
